Dear Sir:

Pump Algebra has had an enormous impact on the Algebra classroom for both the students and the teachers. The use of technology has enhanced the learning process dramatically. The computers are able to assess the student's work and present problems at the student's current level. The teacher is able to present the material in context with real life situations rather than isolated concepts that are not connected.

Students now love coming to class. They also spent time during their study halls, lunch, and before and after school working in the computers. Self-confidence in mathematics is at an all time high, and so is the success rate. Students are excited about math. They are happy, motivated, calm and focused. The instructor has now become the facilitator instead of the orator. The parents are also enthusiastic, because their sons or daughters are using technology to help solve real life situations.

Because of Pump Algebra, students who once shied away from the learning of mathematics have become excited about the possibility of continuing their math careers both here at Hampton and Beyond.

Sincerely,

Ray Peters        Kathy Dickensheets
